Welcome

Mills Computer Club

The Mills Computer Club seeks to promote technical skill, professional networks, and social opportunities for Mills College students interested in Computer Science and its related careers. MCC strives to create a community of computer science students.

About Us

Computer Scientists @ Mills

Mills College is located in Oakland, part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The extensive technical environment in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the East Bay provides many workshops, conventions, and meet ups that club members are encouraged to attend. Mills Computer Club members are a mix of undergraduate and graduate students, all with different levels of experience with Computer Science. We seek not just to strengthen our portfolios, academic skill, and careers, but also to socialize and have fun! Examples of past events include:

Together with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, the college also hosts many guest speakers and workshops, including speakers from Google, Gap Inc., GNOME, and more.

What We Do

Meetings

Biweekly meetings: Thursdays, Stern 14 from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. We change location on weeks where there are guest speakers and events. Contact us through email at our official club mailing list, or contact Barbara, our current president, directly.

Starting Spring 2018, we will be meeting in CPM 207.

Annual Events

Our signature annual event is the Mills College Tech4All Hackathon, which brings together computer enthusiasts from around campus and throughout Oakland, including local high school and community college students.

Conferences

The Mills Computer Club frequently organizes group trips to conferences in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as trips to other conferences such as Grace Hopper. Contact us if you are a student interested in attending a tech conference, and we'll work with you!
