MCC was founded by a group of friends for three main purposes:

  • to prepare for Grace Hopper

  • to study for interviews together

  • to socialize and hang out together

The Mills Computer Club seeks to promote technical skills, professional networks, and social opportunities for Mills College students interested in Computer Science and its related careers. MCC strives to create a community of computer science students.

The Mills Computer Club was started in 2015 by Rachel Kawula (above), Angelica Levya-McMurtry (above), and Winnie Cheung. Our mascot was a stuffed mouse, shown in both pictures as well in many other pictures across the website.

"It evolved out of a study group," founder Rachel Kawula said. "We were a group who wanted to go to Grace Hopper. We had been going to a lot of events together, and we wanted a way to share tips and tricks and prepare for interviews together."
